Help look after the wood

There are different ways to support our local conservation and woodland management work.

Contact us: friendsofbatchwood@gmail.com

Become a volunteer

Our working parties meet on every Friday from around 9.00 to 12.45.  We also meet on the first Sunday of each month 9.30-12.30.

No prior experience needed, we can teach you.  There are things to do for people who are more and less physically active.  We are busy in most types of weather.

Working parties do tasks such as coppicing to promote new growth, removing invasive plants like brambles and nettles to enable ground plants to thrive, maintaining paths and clearing fallen trees and branches.

Become a Friend

Friends make an annual donation towards our running costs and in exchange are kept informed about our activities and have the opportunity to join our committee or attend our Annual General Meeting. We have an annual Friends gathering in the wood to keep people connected to each other, the wood and the work we do.

Donate your talents

If you have skills such as mechanical engineering, woodland management, social media or community engagement, you could offer a few hours to help us with things we cannot easily do ourselves. We have equipment to maintain, communications to create and relationships with other local groups to nurture.
